Ben is internationally recognized as an authority in Emotional Intelligence and is a Research Member and contributing author for the elite Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence.

As Director of R&D and Professional Services at Genos Pty Ltd, Ben is the principal program facilitator of the Genos EI coaching and development programs. He is also a research associate with the Organizational Psychology Research Unit at Swinburne University where he completed a Ph.D. in psychology.

 

For his Ph.D. Ben examined the reliability and factorial validity of a number of emotional intelligence tests. Together with Professor Con Stough he has developed a measure of EI designed specifically for workplace applications, namely, the Genos EI assessment scale.

 

Ben specializes in emotional intelligence development programs to enhance leadership, sales, teamwork and interpersonal skills in the workplace.

 

Ben combines his research on emotional intelligence with its application in the workplace and has authored a number of key peer-reviewed research articles in the area.

 

Dr Palmer completed a PhD in psychology at Swinburne University where he developed the Genos EI Assessment. He is an expert in psychometric test development and validation and regularly consults to business on the utility and application of psychometric assessments in the workplace. He has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles and has been the keynote speaker at international conferences on the topic. In 2002, Swinburne University awarded Ben their prestigious Richard Pratt Scholarship for the quality of his research and leadership in the area.
